Tech rehearsal
The rehearsal where technical elements are added to the staging and worked through cue by cue. It runs slowly and stops often. It belongs to the technical departments rather than to the director's rehearsal process, which is the part most often misunderstood when the schedule is written.
Regional usage
| Where | Term | Note |
|---|---|---|
Easy to get wrong
A tech is not a run. Scheduling a three-hour tech for a two-hour show is the most reliable way to overrun.
