Go GO/執行
The single word that executes a cue. It is said last, on its own, at the exact frame the action should happen, and it is the only thing on a headset that means act now. The convention around it is deliberate: the cue is named in the standby, acknowledged by each department, and then the operator is given nothing further to parse except the word itself.
Regional usage
| Where | Term | Note |
|---|---|---|
| UK / US | Go | |
Easy to get wrong
"Go" is not the Go programming language, however often a search engine disagrees. In a control room it is a cue trigger and nothing else.
Never say the word go in any other sense while a standby is live. "Can you go and check the DSL boom" will fire a cue. The usual phrasings that avoid it are "head over to" and "take a look at".
The cue number belongs in the standby, not the go. Naming it again invites the operator to act on hearing the number, which is how a cue goes early.
