Iron / safety curtain 防火幕（臺灣）／防火閘（香港）
A fire-rated barrier that drops in the proscenium opening to separate the stage from the auditorium. It is a statutory life safety device, its operation normally has to be demonstrated to the fire authority, and its travel path has to be kept clear at all times, including during a get-out.

裝在台口、放下來就把舞台和觀眾席隔開的防火屏障。它是法定的救生設備，動作通常要向消防單位示範，行程範圍任何時候都不能有東西擋住，拆台時也一樣。

Easy to get wrong
「防火幕」和「防火閘」是同一件設備的兩地寫法。臺灣的 rider 問防火幕，就是香港場地的防火閘。
Flame-retardant drapes are not a safety curtain. Treating a treated cloth as fire separation is a licensing failure, not a shortcut.
"Bring in the iron" is an instruction to drop a heavy fire barrier through the proscenium line. Anything stored on that line will be destroyed or will stop the curtain from sealing.
