SMPTE ST 2059-2:2021
SMPTE Profile for Use of IEEE-1588 Precision Time Protocol in Professional Broadcast Applications
Scope
The broadcast PTP profile: the message rates, domain numbers and default parameters a media network uses so that video, audio and timecode all derive from one grandmaster.
Notes
ST 2059-1 defines how a signal relates to the epoch; -2 is the PTP profile itself. This is the profile that has to match on every device: a Dante card on the AES67 media profile and a camera on ST 2059-2 in different PTP domains will each be happily locked, to different clocks.
