IEC 61672-1:2013
Electroacoustics - Sound level meters - Part 1: Specifications
Scope
Specifies the performance requirements and tolerances for sound level meters, including the A, C, and Z frequency-weighting curves that produce dB(A), dB(C), and dB(Z) readings, and the Fast/Slow time-weightings used to integrate a reading. It is the document a meter's accuracy class (Class 1 or Class 2) is actually rated against.
Notes
Edition 2.0, published 30 September 2013, stability date 2029; a technical revision of the 2002 first edition, which replaced the older "Linear" weighting with the defined Z (zero) weighting used today. Part 2 (IEC 61672-2) covers pattern-evaluation tests and Part 3 covers periodic testing — separate documents from this specifications part.
