AES10-2008 (r2019)
AES Recommended Practice for Digital Audio Engineering - Serial Multichannel Audio Digital Interface (MADI)
Scope
MADI: 64 channels of linear PCM at 48 kHz down one coax or one multimode fibre, unidirectional, point to point.
Notes
Still the workhorse of stage-box-to-console links because it is dumb, deterministic and has no network to misconfigure. 64 channels is at 48 kHz: at 96 kHz you get 32, which is the trap in a festival patch that switches sample rate between acts.
