Dante Domain Manager
Management layer for large Dante deployments: user roles, audit logging, and the ability to run several Dante domains across subnets rather than one flat network.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| dante | bidirectional | Manages Dante devices, domains and routing policy. |
| ptp-1588 | bidirectional | Clock management across domains. |
What to watch for
Enrolling a device into a domain changes how it behaves outside that domain. A device borrowed from a DDM-managed system into a touring rack may not simply work.
It solves an organisational problem more than a technical one. If nobody is going to administer the roles, it adds a dependency without adding safety.
Typical use
- A campus or stadium with several independent Dante systems
- Restricting who can re-route audio
- Auditing what changed and when after an incident
