zactrack PRO
UWB radio-based performer tracking system that drives automated followspots, moving lights and audio object positions without needing line of sight to cameras.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| psn | out | PosiStageNet output of tracked positions. |
| art-net | out | Direct fixture control output for tracked followspot behaviour. |
| sacn | out | sACN output for tracked fixture control. |
| osc | bidirectional | OSC for integration with audio and show control. |
| rttrpm | out | RTTrPM output for audio object positions. |
Connectors
- UWB anchors over network
- Performer tags
- Ethernet control
What to watch for
UWB does not need line of sight the way optical tracking does, which is its main advantage over camera systems in a busy set. Anchor placement is still the whole accuracy story.
Tags are worn by performers, so wardrobe, battery life and quick changes are part of the system design, not an afterthought.
Tracking output usually drives lighting and audio at once. Whoever owns the tracking system has become a dependency of two departments; agree the failure plan before the show, not during.
