Yamaha RIVAGE PM7
Yamaha flagship digital mixing system: a CS-R10 style control surface with the DSP-RX engine, TWINLANe fibre ring to the RPio stage boxes, and a large complement of onboard Rupert Neve and Yamaha modelling.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| dante | bidirectional | Dante is native on the RPio boxes and the engine. |
| aes67 | bidirectional | Via Dante AES67 mode. |
| madi | bidirectional | Via HY card. |
| word-clock | bidirectional | Word clock in and out. |
| midi | bidirectional | MIDI control and scene recall. |
| osc | bidirectional | OSC via the console API. |
| ltc | in | LTC input for scene automation. |
Connectors
- TWINLANe fibre ring
- HY card slots (Dante, MADI)
- Word clock in/out
- MIDI
- Redundant PSU
What to watch for
TWINLANe and Dante are two different networks on the same system and they are not interchangeable. TWINLANe carries the high channel-count ring between engine and RPio; Dante is how everything else gets in.
RIVAGE is a system, not a console. The surface without its DSP engine does nothing, which changes what a "spare desk" means on a tour.
PM7 and PM10 differ in DSP capability and I/O, and share files only within limits. Confirm the model, not just "a RIVAGE".
