Modulo Kinetic
French media server platform built around a real-time 3D engine, used for projection mapping, LED and immersive installs. Splits into a Designer workstation for authoring and V-Node playback machines driven from it.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| art-net | bidirectional | Art-Net in for console control, out for fixture and pixel control. |
| sacn | bidirectional | sACN in for console control. |
| osc | bidirectional | OSC in and out for show control. |
| ndi | bidirectional | NDI input and output. |
| ltc | in | LTC for timeline sync. |
| psn | in | PosiStageNet for tracked objects and moving scenery. |
| rttrpm | in | RTTrPM tracking input. |
| smpte-st-2110 | bidirectional | ST 2110 on suitably equipped nodes. |
What to watch for
Designer and V-Node are separate machines with separate roles. The show is authored on Designer and played by the nodes, so a rider asking for "a Kinetic" needs to say how many of each.
The 3D scene is the master. Warping and blending live in the scene rather than in per-output correction, which is powerful and means the on-site alignment workflow is not the same as a warp-per-projector server.
