Latency 延遲
The time between something happening and the system showing or sounding it. Every conversion, network hop, scaler, processor and wireless link adds some, and it accumulates down a chain until a video wall no longer matches the PA and a performer no longer trusts their monitor.

Easy to get wrong
Audio and video latency are budgeted separately and then have to be reconciled. Fixing lip sync by delaying the audio can push the performer monitor feed past what they can play to.
