SMPTE ST 12-2:2014
Transmission of Time Code in the Ancillary Data Space
Scope
How SMPTE timecode rides inside an SDI signal as ancillary data (ATC), rather than as an audio-band LTC signal on its own cable.
Notes
Companion to ST 12-1, which defines the timecode itself. Worth knowing which one a device means by "timecode input": an ATC-only camera will not read the LTC feed you sent it down an XLR.
