29 CFR 1910.95

Occupational noise exposure (OSHA)

OSHAsafety-managementfree to readcurrent

Scope

US federal limits on workplace noise exposure: 90 dBA permissible exposure limit over 8 hours on a 5 dB exchange rate, hearing conservation programme required from 85 dBA time-weighted average.

Notes

Crew and house staff at a loud show are workers under this rule: FOH mix level debates are also exposure-limit debates. The EU equivalent directive uses 87 dBA with a 3 dB exchange rate, so multinational tours meet two different maths.
