Parameter values for the HDTV standards for production and international programme exchange
Scope
The HD colour space: primaries, white point, transfer characteristic and the RGB-to-YCbCr matrix that essentially all 1080-line production has used since the 1990s.
Notes
ITU-R Recommendations are free. Rec. 709 is the default assumption of nearly every projector, LED processor and media server, which is why content graded in P3 or 2020 goes flat and desaturated when nobody sets the conversion.
