Image parameter values for high dynamic range television for use in production and international programme exchange
Scope
The HDR television parameters: both transfer functions - PQ (ST 2084) and HLG - alongside the Rec. 2020 primaries, at HD, 4K and 8K rasters.
Notes
PQ is absolute (a code value means a nit figure) and HLG is relative (it scales to the display). Feeding PQ content to an HLG chain, or either to an SDR LED processor, produces the "why is it grey" call. Ask which curve before the content is delivered, not on site.
