ISO 20121:2024
Event sustainability management systems - Requirements with guidance for use
Scope
A management-system standard for events: how an organiser identifies the sustainability issues of an event, sets objectives, involves the supply chain, and demonstrates improvement. Certifiable, and increasingly written into tenders for festivals, arenas and touring.
Notes
Written for London 2012 and revised in 2024. It certifies a management system, not an event: "ISO 20121 certified" means the organisation has the process, not that a given show hit a carbon number. Useful to know which is being claimed when it appears in a rider.
