IEC 60598-2-17:2017
Luminaires - Part 2-17: Particular requirements - Luminaires for stage lighting, television and film studios (outdoor and indoor)
Scope
The safety requirements specific to stage, television, film and photographic studio luminaires, including spot and floodlight projectors, on supplies up to 1000 V. Covers the hanger as part of the luminaire; tripods, booms and other supports are explicitly out of scope.
Notes
Edition 2.0 replaced the 1984 first edition and widened the scope from lamp types to "electric light source", which is how LED fixtures with non-replaceable sources came inside it. Adopted in Europe as EN IEC 60598-2-17 and in the UK as BS EN IEC 60598-2-17:2018. If a fixture is CE marked for stage use, this is one of the documents behind the mark.
