Performance standards for light-emitting products: laser products
Scope
US federal performance standard for laser products, including the demonstration-laser provisions under which laser light shows operate; show operators additionally require an FDA variance for audience-scanning and Class IIIb/IV display use.
Notes
The practical chain for US laser shows: product complies with 1040.10, the show runs under an FDA variance, and the operator files annual reports. Internationally the equivalent framework hangs off IEC 60825-1.
