General Device Type Format (GDTF)
Scope
Specifies GDTF, an open file format describing an entertainment fixture: its DMX modes and channel layout, its geometry and physical properties, and its behaviour — so one definition can serve a console, a visualiser and a CAD package.
Notes
With MVR, this is what allows a plot to move from CAD to previsualisation to console without anybody retyping a patch. Check that a downloaded file matches the firmware the fixture is actually running.
