Scope
How to measure and evaluate the sound level an audience is exposed to from a PA system, and the measures that follow: measurement position, averaging, logging and the responsible-person role.
Notes
This is why German shows have a logging SPL meter at a defined measurement point and a named person watching it. It governs exposure of the AUDIENCE; crew exposure is a separate occupational question under the EU noise directive. The 2022 edition replaced the 2007 version and its 2013 corrigendum.
