Vectorworks Braceworks
Structural load analysis add-on for Vectorworks that calculates loads on trusses, hoists and rigging points from the drawn rig, integrated with the Spotlight design workflow.
What to watch for
Results depend entirely on the drawn model being accurate: real fixture weights, real cable weights, real hang points. A rig drawn with default weights produces confident, wrong numbers.
It is an aid to a qualified rigger and an engineer, not a substitute for either. The output is an input to a rigging plan.
Truss and hoist manufacturer data has to be loaded and current. Analysing a generic truss and hanging a specific one is not the same calculation.
Typical use
- Load calculations from a drawn lighting and audio rig
- Producing hoist load figures for a venue
- Checking a truss span against manufacturer data
