TouchOSC
Design a control layout and run it on a tablet or phone, sending OSC or MIDI. The long-standing default for a quick wireless remote, now with a scripting layer and desktop hosts as well as mobile.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| osc | bidirectional | Core. |
| midi | bidirectional | Core. |
What to watch for
A remote over production Wi-Fi is only as reliable as that Wi-Fi. Never make it the only path to something a cue needs.
Older TouchOSC layouts do not carry across to the current application.
Typical use
- A wireless remote for a console, media server or playback machine
- Purpose-built panels for a specific show
