Fast, forgiving 3D modelling that answers "roughly, does this fit and what does it feel like" in an afternoon. Excellent for the conversation with a director or a client. Not a data model and not a documentation tool, so it is the wrong place for the source of truth on a build.

What to watch for

Geometry only. Nothing in a SketchUp model knows what it weighs, draws or is patched to, so no paperwork comes out of it.

Imported models from warehouses vary wildly in scale, cleanliness and polygon count. Check a known dimension immediately.
