Multiplay
Free Windows theatre sound cue playback application, long used in amateur and educational theatre for straightforward cue lists of audio files with fades and hotkeys.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| midi | bidirectional | MIDI triggering. |
What to watch for
Development has been quiet for a long time. It still works for simple cue lists but should not be specified for a production that needs support.
Windows audio device handling is the usual failure. Lock the output device and disable Windows sound enhancements before the show.
Typical use
- Amateur and school theatre sound cues
- A no-budget playback machine
- Teaching cue-based sound operation
