MA 3D
MA Lighting's visualiser, bundled with the grandMA software line, showing the rig in 3D driven live by the console for pre-programming and rehearsal without the physical fixtures.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| ma-net | in | Driven directly over MA-Net from a grandMA session. |
| art-net | in | Art-Net input where MA-Net is not used. |
What to watch for
Version-locked to the console software generation. MA 3D for grandMA2 and the grandMA3 visualiser are not the same product and do not share files.
The visualiser knows the rig you built in it. Time spent making the model match the real plot is what determines whether the pre-programming is usable on site.
Typical use
- Pre-programming a grandMA show off site
- Rehearsing cues without the rig
- Checking fixture positions against the plot
