LightConverse
Real-time 3D lighting and stage visualiser used for previsualisation and design presentation, with a large fixture library and live console input over the usual lighting protocols.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| art-net | in | Art-Net input from a console. |
| sacn | in | sACN input from a console. |
| citp | bidirectional | CITP for media server and console integration. |
What to watch for
Visualiser output is a rendering, not a photometric prediction. Use it for looks and positions, not to prove illuminance on a subject.
Fixture library accuracy varies. A fixture that renders with the wrong zoom range will make a pre-programmed show wrong in a way nobody catches until the rig is up.
Typical use
- Pre-programming and rehearsing a show off site
- Presenting a lighting design to a client
- Checking beam coverage and sightlines before load-in
