Finale 3D
Fireworks design and simulation software. A designer programs to the moment an effect is seen, and the software works backwards through each item's lift and delay to produce the fire times the controller actually executes — which is why a shell that bursts on the beat was fired seconds earlier.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| ltc | out | Scripts are executed against timecode by the firing system. |
What to watch for
The simulation is only as honest as the effect data behind it. Times, heights and durations come from the product library and from the manufacturer.
Design software does not arm anything. Permission to fire stays in the physical chain, outside every computer.
Typical use
- Pyromusical design and simulation
- Producing the script a firing system executes
- Showing a client the show before anything is bought
