ArtNet Monitor (PixiLab)
Small open-source Java application that displays live Art-Net DMX-512 channel values in a single window, for single-universe or 'omni' (all-universe) monitoring on Mac, Linux, or Windows.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| art-net | in | Simple Art-Net DMX-512 monitor with single-universe or omni (multi-universe) modes. |
| dmx512 | in | Displays per-channel DMX values received via Art-Net. |
What to watch for
Binds to the machine's default network interface only; on multi-NIC systems you may need to adjust routing/interface priority to receive the intended Art-Net traffic.
Distributed as a runnable JAR requiring a Java 8+ runtime; small commit history (~10 commits) suggests it's a minimal, infrequently updated utility.
Typical use
- Quick, no-install visual check of DMX values arriving over Art-Net on a workstation
- Cross-platform sanity check when Windows-only monitors aren't an option
