Adobe After Effects
Motion graphics and compositing application, and the tool most show content for LED walls and projection is actually finished in before it reaches a media server.
What to watch for
Export codec matters more than the source project. A media server wants a codec it can decode in real time at the required resolution, which is rarely the export default.
Colour management between After Effects, the media server and the LED processor is where content stops matching the approval render. Agree the pipeline before the content is made.
Content pixel dimensions must match the screen map, not a convenient 4K frame. Scaling on the server costs quality and sometimes performance.
Typical use
- Producing looping content for LED screens
- Titles and lower thirds for event screens
- Compositing camera plates for stage content
