Yamaha Rio3224-D2
Dante stage box with remote-controlled preamps, and the standard I/O behind a great many Yamaha live systems. The head amps are controlled from the console over the same network that carries the audio.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| dante | bidirectional | Primary transport, with redundancy. |
| aes67 | bidirectional | Through Dante interoperability where enabled. |
| word-clock | bidirectional | Clock. |
Connectors
- Analogue inputs (XLR)
- Analogue outputs (XLR)
- AES/EBU
- 2x etherCON Dante (primary/secondary)
What to watch for
Gain sharing is the classic multi-console problem: two consoles controlling the same head amp will fight unless one is following the other.
Redundant Dante needs two physically separate networks to mean anything. Two cables into one switch is not redundancy.
