Ferrofish A32 Dante
32 in, 32 out analogue interface with both MADI and Dante, commonly used as the bridge between a MADI-based console world and a Dante-based system world.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| dante | bidirectional | 32 channels to and from Dante. |
| madi | bidirectional | Optical and coaxial MADI. |
| aes67 | bidirectional | Via Dante AES67 mode. |
| word-clock | bidirectional | Word clock in and out. |
Connectors
- 32x analogue in (DB25)
- 32x analogue out (DB25)
- MADI optical and coax
- 2x Dante etherCON
- Word clock in/out
What to watch for
MADI channel count halves at 96 kHz. A 64-channel MADI plan silently becomes 32 channels when someone changes sample rate for the broadcast feed.
It is a clock decision point as much as a format converter. Decide whether MADI or Dante is the clock source and configure it deliberately, or you get intermittent ticks nobody can locate.
