ETC Sensor3 Dimmer Rack
Installed dimmer and constant-power rack with per-module electronics, network feedback and the CEM3 control module that reports load, breaker state and rack temperature back to the console.
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| sacn | in | sACN input from the console. |
| art-net | in | Art-Net input. |
| etcnet3 | bidirectional | Net3 for control, feedback and configuration. |
| dmx512 | in | DMX input as a backup or primary path. |
| rdm | bidirectional | RDM for module reporting on supported configurations. |
Connectors
- DMX in (XLR5)
- 2x Ethernet
- Dimmer / relay / constant-power modules
- Feeder lugs
What to watch for
A dimmer module and a constant-power (ThruPower or relay) module are physically interchangeable and electrically very different. Putting an LED fixture on a dimmer module is how expensive things get damaged.
CEM3 feedback only reaches the console if the rack is on the control network. Many installs wire DMX only, and then nobody sees the breaker trip.
Rack load and feeder size are a building electrical matter. Adding a moving-light rig to a house dimmer rack is a load calculation, not a patching exercise.
