ChainMaster D8 Plus chain hoist
Electric chain hoist built to the D8 Plus classification: a second, independent brake so that a single brake failure does not drop the load. That permits a static load to be suspended above people — and does not permit it to be moved while they are there.

What to watch for
D8 Plus is about holding, not moving. Suspending a static load over people is permitted; moving it with people underneath is not.
The classification is a property of the whole system — hoist, controller and the way it is rigged — not a sticker on the motor.
Inspection intervals and the qualification of the person doing them are part of the classification, not an optional extra.
