Brainstorm DXD-8 Distripalyzer
Timecode distribution amplifier, analyser and generator in one: reads LTC, shows what it actually is, regenerates it clean, and feeds eight outputs. The diagnostic box for when timecode "is not working".
Protocols it speaks
| Protocol | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| ltc | bidirectional | Reads, analyses, regenerates and distributes LTC. |
| mtc | out | MIDI timecode output. |
Connectors
- LTC in (XLR)
- 8x LTC out (XLR)
- MIDI out
- Video reference in
What to watch for
Most "timecode problems" are level, frame rate or drop-frame mismatches rather than a dead cable. A box that displays the incoming rate and flags drop-frame settles the argument in seconds.
Daisy-chaining timecode through device thru ports degrades it. A distribution amplifier that regenerates rather than buffers is the difference between eight good feeds and eight progressively worse ones.
