Winch 捲揚機
A powered drum that spools wire rope to pull a load, mounted so the rope can run over sheaves at an angle rather than straight down — which is why winches, not chain hoists, run stage-wagon tracks, turntables and diagonal flying effects. Under the entertainment powered-hoist standard a winch is a different machine from a hoist: it pulls rather than holds a suspended load on a locking brake, and a capstan winch is explicitly excluded from that standard's scope.

以捲筒收放鋼索拉動負載的動力設備。與電動葫蘆不同,捲揚機的鋼索纏在捲筒上,可做水平或斜向牽引。
Easy to get wrong
Do not assume a "winch" on a rig plot is rated like a point hoist. ANSI E1.6 covers powered hoists and explicitly excludes capstan winches — the safety case for a winch comes from elsewhere.
Hoists hold a suspended load on a mechanical locking brake; winches typically use dynamic braking, fine on an incline but not for holding a load static overhead.
