RDM sub-device RDM
A logical device inside one physical RDM device, addressed by number so that a multi-channel product can expose each channel separately under a single UID. Root device zero is the box itself and carries what belongs to the box; sub-devices carry what belongs to each channel or cell. A twelve-way dimmer rack is typically one UID and twelve sub-devices.

Easy to get wrong
Addressing the root of a multi-cell fixture addresses the fixture, not its first cell. Some products use separate UIDs per channel instead, and patch differently.
