Bridle
Two or more legs of steel taken from separate structural points down to a single hanging position, used when the load needs to hang somewhere the structure has no point. The geometry decides everything: as the angle between the legs opens up, the tension in each leg climbs above the weight being carried, and at wide angles it climbs fast.

Easy to get wrong
A bridle is not extra capacity. It moves a load sideways between existing points and puts MORE tension in each leg than a dead hang. Two 500 kg points are not a 1000 kg bridle.
